Joni Mitchell’s music has been a constant through all of the phases of my life up to current times when I listen to her with my grandchildren. The lyrics of Ladies of the Canyon describe a rich world of women who were friends, supporters, sisters in life- essential relationships that have carried women through cultural and political challenges throughout time. Her melodies and poetry are unique to my youth but continue to resonate with beauty and solace.
